Wondering about painting requirements. I am currently painting a Tyranid army from scratch for Vegas, and as such won't be able to bring my Guard up to 2k from the 1850 I did for Onslaught.

Hey Brian, what are the army requirements and how are the armies, games being judged? How many slots are still open?

Hey Brian, what are the army requirements and how are the armies, games being judged? How many slots are still open? Only requirement is a cap of 2000 points. There is no comp score. Each game will have 5 objectives which each player is trying to achieve. Many of them can be met by both players (ie. Your most expensive HQ must survive) while others only 1 of the players will get it (be the first to score a kill point). At the end you get a 5 point penalty if your army isn't painted (3 colors). There is still several spots open so join up

Hey Brian,
Can you explain those mission objects a bit more?
"EVERY" game will have 5 objectives? And is it bonuses for The HQ surviving and the first kill point (this will obviously favour the player who goes first...)?

The idea of objectives is something I came up with to make figuring out your points for a game faster. It's a simple yes and no for each of them and yet there is enough of them to help seperate people out in the end to have a winner.
The objectives are different each game.
One thing I aim for is to make sure the games played in my tournaments are unique and not the bog standard (and boring) scenarios we have all played a million times in other games. I do my best to make things fair, but in the end you can't help one army having an advantage over the other in some way.
To reward those that come back to this site, here is the break down of the first game:
Game 1: Spread Thin
There are times when your betters order you to do more than your resources truly allow, so that if overall victory is to be at all possible hard choices will have to be made in order to deploy only enough forces in a given area to win the day. In this case you have 4 different planets to take on the same day, but only one army…
The 6X4 board is split into four zones of 1.5X4. Roll off to determine which side you will be controlling and the player that won also deploys the first unit. Alternate deploying units up to 12 inches from the long board edge of the table, however keep in mind that each zone is in effect a different board and once units are deployed in a zone they will have no way to interact with the other zones (other than Necron phase out is totaled over all four zones and chapter master tactics apply to the entire army). Units with dedicated transports must de deployed with their transport, and for units that enter via reserve/outflank/infiltrate just declare which zone they will be going into on their turn of the alternation. Roll off for first turn. The game will last 6 turns.
Objectives: - Deploy at least 1 unit in each zone. - Win zone 1 by having the most victory points (you heard me right!). Add up the points of units destroyed to find out the winner). Units brought under half strength and vehicles immobilized during the game (so no free points from drop pods) are worth half their victory points. If you are tabled in a zone you automatically lose it. - Win zone 2 by having the most victory points (see above). - Win zone 3 by having the most victory points (see above). - Win zone 4 by having the most victory points (see above).

I think everyone likes unique scenarios at events. This scenario will definitely reward spammy army lists... should be interesting.
Will you be posting all the scenarios or just the first?
