The scenario greatly rewards the person who deploys second.

I agree with tim; perhaps alternate the order of deployment? Like a snake draft in a hockey pool: A-B, B-A, A-B, B-A, etc.

Alternating (a-b, a-b, a-b...) isn't bad, just remove "Stealing the initiative" from the scenario and all is good.

Hrmm... if I rolled higher, I'd definetly go second. Being able to tailor which unit goes against which unit is a pretty big advantage; some might say it's how every good player wins most games.

For sure it's an advantage so roll higher. ;-)
Of course there is also an advantage if the first kill point is a bonus... The thing with "custom" scenarios is that it's impossible to make them completely balanced for everything. Just gotta hope they are interesting and mostly "fair"... balance is a nice concept but not really applicable to 40K.

A-B, B-A is an interesting idea. I had hoped that picking sides would at least offset the issue. This mission also favors those that have several units so you can draw out the opponent's critical units before you. And for those wondering, IG platoons would be 1 placement

Ah Chris... that's too bad... Seriously though you should let me know when you are free up here so we can meet up for a game. There is a new club that runs games on Wednesday but I have my own table and terrain if we arrange it early enough

Do you require a copy of our army listd prior to the tourny starting? Nope. I trust people. People who lose that trust are kicked out and not welcome to return.

Any suggestions on parking? Will they tag and tow in the IGA parking lot?
