So with all the Canadian tournaments going to 2250 is it safe to say that 2250 will now be the standard gaming size for 40k and Fantasy?

Isn't it 2000 for 40k and 2250 for Fantasy? In fact, wasn't Adepticon 1850 for 40k this year?

Nope. Mayday, Onslaught, and Fracas will be 2250 for both systems.

Hoowhat? Mayday website still says 1850 for 40K 20K has bounced around a lot over the past few years, they seem to choose anything from 1500 to 1850 at random for the GTs in different countries. Dunno if it's to keep people from bringing back the same lists or what.

That's weird... I could have sworn they both were 2250... was it lowered due to the bad ticket sales?
Anyway, I hope the standard size does go up to 2250. Seems you get that 1 or 2 extra units that makes all the difference.

Ward and I settled on MayDay 40K at 1850pts back in January. Something a bit different from Fracas. As it turns out, might not be what today's 40K gamers are looking for. I'm hoping the registration for 40K will pick up in the end stretch. Fantasy is up to 13 out of 16 spots, so anyone who wants to get in on Fantasy, don't wait too long.

I don't know Craig... 1850 already seems like too much to me, 2000 points, let alone 2250, will be way too crowded for the table. 40k has too little maneuvre as it is, bumping up the model count so it's like the Apocalypse "engage at pistol range, roll to randomly remove miniatures" spiel makes it even worse.
Anyhow, enough ranting. I'm not sure that it's the size that's keeping people away from 40k for Mayday in any case. I, for example, am not going to the 40k tournament because I didn't have a non-cheesy painted army, and because I wanted to try all the other interesting games instead of being restricted to GW stuff.

1850 too big?!?!? On 6X4? With 40K?
My 2k ork list with 212 models has no problem so I can't see how others would.

I've played against ~180 model Ork armies and they already fill the deployment zone. There's no tactic other than "move forward" with that kind of crowding. There's simply no space to move in any other way. But then again, the 40k system doesn't really allow you to do much fire and movement.

Well the point of horde is usually just move forward ; )

Anyone have a link to how the HoH tournaments rate your army composition? I want to read up on the Fantasy section as well as the 40K section...

I think the only thing they have looked at here is if you have at least 30% core.
